Outreach (Gloucestershire)

The service will help people who are street homeless across the county to find a route to more sustainable, secure housing.

It will provide tailored support for urban and rural communities, reflecting the different challenges faced by rough sleepers and local communities in different parts of Gloucestershire.

In Gloucester and Cheltenham, the team will provide daily outreach walks to known ‘hotspots’ in each city to connect with people sleeping on the streets and help them access expert support and more suitable supported accommodation.

In rural areas, the team will work closely with the local community and partner agencies to identify rough sleepers in hard-to-reach or isolated locations and bring much-needed support to them.

What can you expect?

  • A visit by staff to where you are sleeping or spending time on the streets
  • An offer of accommodation either locally or re-connecting back home
  • Information on services that provide food, drug/alcohol treatment, mental health support, internet access, clothes, washing facilities, activities, weekly Day Centre provision etc.
