We are calling on primary schools to get creative this festive season, spread some cheer and raise vital funds by taking part in our Christmas Card Competition.
The competition will see pupils creating festive cards in class to add some sparkle and joy to our emergency access hostel in Bath. The best entry will win the accolade of having their design printed and sold as part of our official Christmas card selection next year.
Senior Community & Events Fundraiser Jessica Gay said: “This year has been especially tough for the vulnerable men and women in our care. With Christmas on its way, we want to ensure we provide the best experience possible, especially as many are unable to see family at this crucial time. We hope to receive lots of creative entries from school children, with positive messages inside to put a smile on everyone’s face and add some festive cheer.”
Cards can feature any festive design and can be created using any materials on a piece of A5 card. Entry to the competition is just £1 per submission and Julian House will work with schools to create a Just Giving page to collect these donations. Entrants must be received by 11th December 2020 and the winner will be announced 8th January 2021.
Jessica added “Donating just £1 each can make a huge difference to the lives of men and women in our care. This year, due to Coronavirus, we are expecting an income loss of £200,000 – these are vital funds needed to keep our life saving services open. We hope that schools can come together this winter, encourage their pupils to get creative and support the people who need it most.”
The competition also features in our updated schools resource pack. It’s free for schools and comes complete with KS2 teaching resources, lesson plans, a virtual video assembly and fundraising resources, you can find out more about it here.
