Our Julian House Domestic Abuse Service team are thrilled to have a newly refurbished Sunflower Garden for our clients.
We wanted to share our gratitude to IKEA Exeter who provided the furniture and their time to revamp the Sunflower Garden for our clients. The new and improved garden is filled to the brim with colourful, floral designs, making a useable and communal space for those in our service.
To help with the makeover, our clients got involved in redecorating and had a great time joining in with the revamp and of course IKEA meatballs were eaten in the process!
Spending time in green space or bringing nature into everyday life can benefit both mental and physical wellbeing.
Julian House provides specialist support and refuge accommodation for men, women, and children escaping domestic abuse. The service includes good quality, safe refuge accommodation where you can recover from your experiences in a non-judgemental, supportive setting and well as access to legal and financial advice specialist children and family support.
A support worker will be alongside the client every step of the way. We understand what a huge decision coming into refuge can be, we will listen and support them to recover and live a life free from abuse.
