Dine and Donate

Dine & Donate is an initiative launched by Julian House to help raise funds for homeless and vulnerable people in our community. By adding a voluntary £1 (or more) donation to customers’ bills, local restaurants, pubs and cafés, along with their customers, can collectively raise money to help support over 2,000 homeless or vulnerable people every year.

Why should I get involved?

Julian House is a charity that supports vulnerable and at-risk individuals. These include people experiencing homelessness, escaping domestic abuse, adults with learning difficulties; people who need support after leaving prison and the long term unemployed.

What’s the benefit to my business?

  • Julian House, and the local community, will recognise your support and as well as doing something to help, it will also help you to fulfil some of your corporate social responsibility.
  • Announcement of your involvement on our social media platforms
  • Early involvement will also include a press release Posters to advertise your participation
  • Your logo and weblink in on our Dine & Donate webpage Inclusion in our supporter e-newsletter Tent cards for your tables to explain your customer’s optional donation Recognition of your support and total raised for Julian House on social media

How much will it cost to be involved?

The cost to get involved is zero! We will provide everything you need and, added to that, the administration is very small and the cost of the printed material has been kindly sponsored by The Mint Rooms.

Dine & Donate is very cost efficient way to fulfil your corporate and social responsibility and support a charity local to you.

Which restaurants are taking part?

All the restaurants who have agreed to take part will have their logo and link to website added above. Our supporters can then visit your webpage and either book a table or pop along to your restaurant to dine and donate.

Will it affect my staff’s tips?

From research carried out into similar schemes, tips are not affected during the campaign and most staff enjoy being associated with an employer that cares for a local charity.

Will our customers want to donate?

Research has highlighted that the majority of customers are happy to get involved and many are more than happy to donate more than £1. As a local charity who supports people in your community, Julian House has a great reputation of providing vital support to those who need our support the most. Your support will help to embed and promote the partnership between Julian House and your business.

How can we make even more out of this partnership.

Once you have signed up you receive a pack containing posters and tent cards to promote your involvement. We will also outline how to raise awareness of your involvement by including a press release template and social media hints and tips.

In addition to asking customers to donate to on their bills, you could also choose to donate by adding a donation to one of your popular dishes. Every time someone orders that dish you would then be donating a set amount, again through the button on your till.

You could also extend your support to holding one off events during the year, including competitions, themed evenings, quiz nights, live entertainment nights or raffles.

Our dedicated fundraising team can also offer advice on other ways you can support the hospice and would be happy to talk through ideas with you.
