On 12th January, locally born and internationally loved comedian Russell Howard took to the stage at the Komedia in aid of Julian House.
Russell was joined by Steve Hall, Annie McGrath, Athena Kugblenu, Gavin Osborn and Steve Hall to deliver a stand-out evening of stand-up.
More than 700 guests came to support, raising over £14,000 for Julian House. This was all made possible thanks to five generous comedians and musicians who took time out of their busy schedules to perform for free.
All performing comedians have waived their fee for the gig, so all funds raised goes towards Julian House’s services to support individuals who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Bath and across the Southwest.
Born in Bath, Russell has supported many local charities over the years and has long been an advocate for social justice and humanitarian causes. His passion for addressing homelessness aligns perfectly with Julian House’s mission to provide practical solutions and long-term support for those without secure accommodation.
His current tour, ‘Russell Howard Live’, has seen him play dates in the UK, USA, New Zealand and Australia and has sold over 250,000 tickets over 100+ gigs in the UK & Ireland alone (including 11 London Palladium gigs).
“We’re so grateful to have Russell on board for this show at Komedia. He has always been a champion of causes like Julian House and this gig will make a real impact to our services. January can be pretty cold and miserable, and we know Russell brings joy and warmth to every gig he does!” – Gavin Osborn, Events and Community fundraiser.
